Purpose of the Role
Responsible for driving and implementing a strategic approach to enterprise risk management across reviewing and managing transferable and non-transferable elements of the company’s risk profile. Develop and maintain relevant networks, both internally and externally, to help in the identification and management of the commercial and operational risks faced by the Company.
Be a part of the steering committee and be responsible for meeting with and advising the Board of Directors on all issues pertaining to Compliance and Risk (protect the business).
Role Accountabilities
Risk Management
- Responsible for the implementation of the Group Risk Management programme, including ERM and Crisis Management
- Organise, drive and attend Quarterly Risk Committee Meeting attended by Executive leaders, establishing an agreed risk appetite and tolerance level.
- Maintain and develop the Group Risk Management Policy, guidelines and governance structures.
- Working closely with Executive leaders on the Corporate Risk Register, reporting and action plans
- Provide advice on any mergers, acquisitions, company growth or changes of strategic direction.
- Understand and manage the Total Cost of Risk within the Group which incorporates all costs to the business associated with retained risk, cost of non-quality and third-party appointments.
- Oversee the Group Risk Control programme
- Set clear policies and guidelines for business units to follow and address.
Sanctions Compliance
- Maintain and develop the Group Sanctions Policy, guidelines and procedures.
- Work closely with the Sanctions support team interacting with all departments and regions on the counterparties and/or analysis performed. Analyse, advise and resolve ad-hoc cases, together with the Legal department.
Relationships
- Quickly establish credibility and respect and build strong working relationships with departmental leaders, demonstrating maturity, professionalism and gravitas.
- Work closely with the departmental leaders to understand the group’s exposure to risk and to implement effective and commercially practicable strategies for risk reduction.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate closing with the Legal team.
- Encourage the sharing of best practices across all business units and regions.
Crisis Management
- Responsible for development and implementation of the Business Continuity Plans.
- Ensure all departments are fully trained and prepared to implement Business Continuity Plans, working closely with all departments and regions on planning.
- Make every effort to be aware of and understand your role in the event of a crisis.
- Make every effort to attend any relevant training, simulations and or meetings relating to Crisis Management.
- Perform your role as best as possible in a calm and collaborative manner in line with the relevant policy and procedures in the event of a Crisis.
- Provide input and feedback towards the ongoing improvement of the Crisis Management framework and procedure.
Safety

- Challenging and stopping unsafe acts and behaviours or unsafe conditions.
