About the Role

We’re seeking a Data Solutions Technical Support Specialist to join a leading financial services organisation. This is a client-facing role where you’ll provide expert-level support and solutions for mission-critical data systems. You’ll be the go-to person for troubleshooting and technical issue resolution while working closely with both clients and internal teams.

This role suits someone with a hands-on technical skillset and a customer-first mindset who thrives in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a primary technical contact for clients, ensuring quick and effective resolution of data solution issues.
  • Provide hands-on support for enterprise data platforms, applications, and tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents using Java, SQL, and Unix scripting skills.
  • Work closely with development, infrastructure, and business teams to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Create and maintain documentation, technical guides, and standard operating procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and proactively contribute to platform reliability and client satisfaction.

Skills & Experience

  • Technical Expertise:
    • Strong Java programming and debugging skills.
    • Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases.
    • Proficiency in Unix/Linux scripting (bash, shell scripting).
  • Cloud Knowledge:
    • Exposure to AWS-hosted applications and cloud-based environments is highly desirable.
  • Client-Facing Support Experience:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proven ability to engage directly with clients and stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset:
    • Analytical thinker with a track record of resolving technical challenges under pressure.
  • Preferred Background:
    • Experience in financial services or fintech environments.
    • Familiarity with data pipelines, ETL processes, and large-scale data platforms.

Exposure to ITIL practices, service management, or incident management processes.
