About the Role

The company is hiring a Software Engineer with deep experience in Python and system architecture to join their AI team. The role focuses on operationalizing AI solutions at scale, with responsibilities spanning backend development, infrastructure, DevOps, and automation. You’ll work closely with engineers across disciplines to bring next-generation LLM-based capabilities into production.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend systems and APIs tailored for AI/ML applications
• Support robust, scalable data and ML pipelines
• Develop async microservices using FastAPI and Python
• Manage data state and performance using Redis and MongoDB
• Integrate LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, LLaMA, Anthropic) and vector databases like Pinecone
• Containerize development/production environments with Docker
• Build and monitor event-driven services with Kafka
• Implement structured logging and observability tools (e.g., Structlog, Datadog)
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
• Support deployment orchestration using tools like Quadrant
• (Optional) Assist with Scala-based systems if applicable

Requirements

• Experience in Python backend development
• Strong proficiency with Redis (especially asyncio), MongoDB, and FastAPI
• Experience working with LLMs and APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, LLaMA 3.x)
• Familiarity with semantic search and vector databases (e.g., Pinecone)
• Hands-on with Docker, GitHub Actions, and Kafka-based systems
• Experience supporting systems at scale (500k+ users)
• Strong collaboration skills in cross-functional teams
• Startup or high-growth environment experience

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Scala or interest in learning
• Kubernetes or other container orchestration experience
• Background in AI/ML product teams or research settings
